Wesley Enhanced Living is anything but enhanced living. We had to move my dad out of there and over to Broomall. Every weekend he spent there was a total set back. There is absolutely no supervision whatsoever on weekends. The “head” nurse Kim and social worker Eleanor told us he needed palliative hospice because he had 6 months to live. The family was shocked at how rapidly he was declining. We went through hell. When the family met with the doctor and the staff, we thought they were telling him the bad news. Doc said he didn’t believe in palliative hospice. Kim walked out of the meeting. Eleanor said if we moved him, he’d lose his insurance. Another lie. My dad is now walking up steps in Broomall and doing great. Do not send a loved one here.

After my mom fell broke her femor. She was placed in Dunnwoody my mom got a UTI and was back in the hospital. My sister's and I were looking for a new place for Mom. My sister called a place for Mom and she found Wesley. We love it ! Mom has been living there for about a year she is happy, people are friendly she had made friends, food is great. Mom is safe staff is responsible and friendly. The only two complaints she has had living there is a bank on site that if you don't have a account they will not give change (I have to agree what is the sense of a bank in a assisted living that doesn't serve the clients) and the nurse on staff is only an LPN not an RN , But we love her, she is responsible, friendly.keeps open lines of communication and is not afraid to say, I can't help her she needs to go to a hospital.

Great community! The staff here at Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line has been wonderful to us, especially when me and my husband first moved here and I had health problems. They got me the doctors appointments I needed, and even went with me to one of my appointments. I cannot thank everyone in the wellness office enough! We picked this community because of all the extra activities and are extremely pleased with everything. I am especially happy to have been able to start up a beginners Canasta group.

I recently had an illness and was welcomed into the Meadows (the skilled nursing home at Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line). Here’s what I heard over and over: “Hello Pearl… Hello Pearl… Hello Pearl…!” Staff members knew my name, even though I didn’t know all of their names. Many knew me because I had been a para-chaplain and visited residents there in the past. I was very pleased with my stay. Everybody was willing to help me. If I couldn’t go to therapy, the physical therapists came to me. The nurses and therapists worked hard to get me back on my feet and now I am back in my apartment again.

Are you looking for a compassionate, caring Retirement Community for your parents, or yourself, to enjoy living your "Golden Years"? Then stay far far away from Wesley Enhanced Living, formerly called Martin's Run! My parents moved there 6 years ago, into an Independent Living apartment, and it's been nothing but problems, unhappiness and fighting with them ever since. I'll start with my father. They decided he became physically unsafe to continue living in the independent living unit, so they forced him to move into their Nursing Home section, called the Meadows, at a cost, to us, of $10,000.00 / month!! Yes, you are reading that number correctly. Well, picture an awful nursing home in your mind, and that is the Meadows. Ugly, dirty, smelly, etc. By mistake, they THREW OUT MY FATHER'S HEARING AIDS while they were cleaning up a mess his roommate had made!! The nurse had stuck my dad's hearing aids in a paper towel, instead of putting them in the hearing aid case where they belonged, so then threw them out along with the "soiled" paper towels. It took them 2 months to replace the aids; 2 months my dad was unable to hear us - his family. Then, under their "care", he developed such a horrible bedsore that he was confined to his bed for the final miserably unhappy month of his life. He finally died last February. In reality, he died the day they forced him to live in the Meadows Nursing Home, a truly awful place. My dad was cognitively perfect, no dementia whatsoever, so he was 100 percent aware of his miserable living conditions. Now they have decided my mother has to move to the Meadows, that she is not physically safe to live independently - NOT TRUE! But before I get into that, let me tell you about a small "mistake" they made last month on her apartment bill. The "room and board" rates were supposed to increase 2 percent. They charged her a 19.7 percent increase! I finally discovered this, which wasn't easy, because their bills are so confusing - they pre-Bill some charges, post-Bill others, split up the daily charges, some items are only charged quarterly, etc. Anyway, when I brought this to the attention of the business office, the extremely rude Business Office woman would not admit to the error, but proceeded to instead accuse me of "short-changing" them the previous month by deducting $17.00 from my mom's bill prior month's bill of $3518.00 - yes, $17.00 she didn't use of charges we had been pre-billed for. Anyway, the CEO finally called me to apologize for this mistake, and assured me I would have been notified and reimbursed for this mistake. I doubt it... Anyway, so now they are forcing my mom to move into the miserable nursing home. Of course try are giving us the option of hiring a 24/7 in-home aid, but they insist we can only use the AIDS they supply, at a cost of $25.00-hr. By the way, WesleyEnhanced Living pays the aid $11 and keeps the other $14. Please please do not move to this awful place. My dad used to call it a warehouse before you die. He was so right.
